Chestnut Hill Academy

A recent $1 million grant from a private family foundation will support Chestnut Hill Academy’s goal of creating a LEED-certified learning facility — the Science & Technology Center — that is a living demonstration of environmental sustainability. LEED is the acronym for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design.

E.G. Rall Jr. Landscape
has been chosen to implement the landscape design of the Science and Technology Center. The landscape will include native plants and a rain garden to collect storm water.

UPDATE: The following are photos of the Chestnut Hill Academy project from the Spring and Summer 2009, as the landscaping took shape, you'll note that rain gardens and LEED Certified landscapes were used as part of the storm water management. Also extensive use of native landscaping, native plants were used as part of the bio retention plan.
